The Kansas Jayhawks are not the only come-from-behind champions this week! On April 4th, our Introduction to Programming students competed in Plainfield High School’s first-ever Mancala Madness Tournament. Mancala is a 1300 year old board game originating in East Africa, and our Java students spent the past two weeks writing Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms that play this exciting game autonomously. Students’ AI algorithms then squared off in a double elimination bracket, AI versus AI. In third place, with a 2-and-2 record, is Gunnar's AI: Gunnar. In second place, with a 3-and-2 record, is Devan's AI: Cortana. And our 2022 Mancala Madness AI versus AI Tournament Champion, with a spirited come-from-behind 4-and-1 victory, is Jahvar's AI: Yungboy Carti—congratulations Jahvar!
